Starting this project, he went to the farm and asked what they needed. Their response was they would like something to honor and remember their service horses that have passed away. Knowing Fassett Farm still had the name plates of these horses, Grant did research for a design to display the plates in a three-sided kiosk that could withstand the weather and be permanently displayed outside. 

The kiosk consisted of using cedar tone treated lumber for the frame, Ondura roofing, melamine backing board for the name plates, polycarbonate sheets to protect the name plates, and stainless-steel fasteners. These materials were chosen so the project would be low maintenance for them over time as well as withstanding the weather in the region. Grant enlisted the help of his Troop, siblings, and close friends for the construction.

Grant’s efforts went a long way in helping the Fassett Farms program, giving a sparkle just before their end of the year fundraiser.

“This was an interesting project because of the complicated angles building a three-sided structure. Not all of my volunteers had experience building things, so this was a good learning experience for all of us,” Grant stated. “This Eagle Project required me to exhibit leadership abilities from start to finish.”
