Real world, hands on experiences
Hello school counselors: It’s an exciting time with school beginning as well as the local Exploring work-force development program, offering all local students 14-20 years old an opportunity to explore local businesses and careers. Here in Hancock & Seneca Counties, there are several such hands-on learning experiences available now.
I’m asking you to share the attached informational flier with your students. Once a student has registered, they are eligible to participate in any or all the groups, which meet monthly or bi-monthly. The 12-month fee is $80. Please find our partnerships and Open House dates attached and listed below.

WHAT’S EXPLORING: Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 10 – 20. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields. Students get hands-on experience to determine whether a particular career field is right for them. Students develop valuable networking contacts with professionals working in their selected career fields, and they get to know other youth with the same interests and aspirations. Exploring is the first step in identifying career possibilities while having fun in an exciting and informal environment.

There’s also a program for youth 10-13 called Exploring Club’s but currently we do not have any businesses running groups for this age group. If you have any interest or info to help begin the conversation, please let us know. |
